Quick verdict: This is a rice toner that I absolutely love and highly recommend to all skin types. It makes my skin look fresh, hydrated, and tight after each application. (Read on to know more.)
Every once in a while we come across a product that becomes a must-have in our skincare routine. When I stumbled upon the practice of using rice water on facial skin (this was more than two years ago), I knew I had found something special. The rice water just worked for my oily skin. My skin looked smoother/less textured and tighter, less oily, and the pores looked shrunk. Apparently, rice water “contains amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that are known to protect and repair your skin.” Now that’s what a toner should do. I used rice water diligently for a few months and then, life happened.
I had forgotten all about it until I came across the I’m From Rice Toner a couple of months ago via a YouTube channel, and ordered it right away.
And I’ve been loving it ever since!
What this rice toner will do for you
This particular toner does everything that homemade rice water is supposed to do for your skin, and there’s no additional steps involved as is the case with making and storing rice water at home. Which makes me feel like it’s almost criminal NOT to use it!
- Your skin will feel deeply cleansed, as this toner will pick up residual makeup or grime left after cleansing your face
- Your skin will feel tighter
- Your skin will feel smoother
- Your skin will feel fresh, as if it has absorbed all the goodness of the rice water
There’s no stickiness or tackiness, as has inevitably been the case for me with every other toner that I’ve tried. In fact, I had stopped using toners just because they would leave me grimy and oilier.
How to use the I’m From Rice Toner
You can use this toner in the AM and the PM, after cleansing your face. Remember to shake it well before use. Follow with your preferred serum/moisturizer. I follow this toner up with COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence.
Final verdict
I can’t rate this product highly enough, or recommend it highly enough for people of all skin types. It’s now very easy to incorporate the goodness of rice water into your skincare routine, thanks to this toner. There is one con, however – this is kinda expensive, retailing at A$46 for 150ml, and you’ll run out of this product fast! So buy two if you spot it on sale, would be my suggestion. (And if this toner isn’t available around where you live, order any from a K-Beauty brand.) The bottomline is, you need rice water in your skincare routine. And if you can’t make rice water the traditional way, a rice water toner is the next best thing.
