I’m Aparna – a skincare & self-care blogger
Hey! I’m an India-born and raised, now Australia-based content creator, particularly skincare blogger. I originally created oilyskindiaries for all those who struggle with skincare challenges and concerns that come with their oily skin. The aim, however, is to not just address those concerns, but to help you thrive in your skin. In your beautiful pimply, textured, acne-scarred skin.
What you can hope to find here
- In-depth and actionable information on our particular skin challenges
- Honest product reviews, so you don’t waste your money
- Skincare routines to help you find one for yourself and stick to it!
- Some chat about makeup and how to make it work with our special skin
- Loads of positive talk and (again, actionable!) information to help you enhance your mental wellbeing.
If that sounds like your cup of tea, dive in and say hi to me on Insta!
I want you to walk away from this blog feeling inspired & empowered to take charge of your skin and overall wellbeing. More importantly, I want you to just fall in love with yourself!
What have skincare and self-care got to do with each other?
Skincare and self-care may not seem to have much in common on the surface, but as any teen who has struggled with breakouts will attest to, they can leave deep scars on you, literally and figuratively. I’m here to tell you, in whatever capacity I can, that your skin is beautiful just the way it is and that it should not affect your mood, let alone your life, in a major way.
I consider it nothing but a personal quirk that my acne-ridden 17-year-old (or 27-year-old) face never affected my self-esteem, but that does not mean that other things didn’t. I am all too familiar with depression, low self-esteem, and in general not taking much care of oneself, or even appreciating oneself. Over the last few years I’ve found that I’m an HSP and as I read more about what that means I’m finally beginning to understand myself better.
I’ve lived a lot (though mostly in my head) and have a lot to share. Which is why, I’ve poured my heart out in the articles on this blog in hopes that it will reach those who are on a similar journey and offer them solace and guidance. We are in this together.
Peace & Namaste
